A wish-a-fish is a stylized fish
symbol, handcrafted in precious metal, and thread onto a cotton cord
to be worn as a bracelet.
Inspired by the philosophies of Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra, The Buddha,
Mahatma Gandhi, and countless others, it is a modern attempt to imbue
daily life with spirituality and consciousness by use of an artifact.
Meant to be worn continuously as a reminder of our personal power to
manifest an idea, a goal, or a path, wearing the fish keeps the wish
at the forefront of our conscious attention. It is a touchstone. It reminds
us that to realize our destiny, we must first recognize that our lives
are created only in this moment, and that we are doing the creating.
If you live with your fish (and your wish) long enough, the cotton cord
may eventually wear through and "release" the fish, reminding
us that while the universe supports a sincere quest for self realization,
we must remain detached from the need for a particular result and surrender
the illusion that we can control the outcome. And of course, it rhymes. |

While you may be accustomed to the idea that
a wish must remain secret to come true, we believe that stating your
intention clearly to the universe is a powerful exercise in focusing
consciousness.
We also believe that as others read and reflect on your wish, it moves
further into what Deepak Chopra refers to as "the field of pure potentiality".
So we've created a weblog for fish-wishers to post their intentions online.
Because your wish is identified only by your fish number, and therefore
completely anonymous, it is a unique opportunity to clarify and share
your goal or desire with the world while keeping it personally private.
In addition
to posting your wish, you can comment on the other wishes, or share experiences
that you think might interest others on this quest. Since we hope you
will eventually pass your fish on facilitate more wishes, the weblog
will provide
a chance to track the adventures of individual fish. |

Wish-a-fish are created through
a process known as "lost wax" casting. A series of handmade
fish, each slightly different, was used to create the master models.
These were
used to make
the molds that now produce each new generation of fish. After being cast
in precious metal, every fish is hand finished in a series of painstaking
steps, and individually stamped with it's own unique number. As a result
of this process, no fish will be identical, or, for that matter, perfect.
Each fish we create is as personal as the wish it is destined to represent. |
