I was approached about shooting some high resolution images
to be made into transparencies for Jolié Designs new booth at the
Las Vegas Jewelry Show. In my enthusiasm for adventure I neglected to insist
that
the
client be more specific than "a few earrings and rings, and maybe a
couple of pendants". The reality was over 60 pieces of jewelry composed
into 5 photos that were "photoshopped" into 3 final images, which
were made into 24" by 36" transparencies. In the fourth image,
I had to "create" four extra pairs of earrings to fill in the composition-can
you tell which ones? The last image was actually a postcard sent to all the
jewelers who had registered to attend the show. It was meant to be the first
in a series, but the response was so good that they're still using it. I haven't decided if I'm thrilled or annoyed.
